The Investigation
Getting started
How do I play?
Sign in with Apple, Google, or Continue as guest. Enter a detective name, wait for the case to initialize (45–90 seconds), then press and hold the microphone to ask questions. Tap the text icon beside the mic if you prefer typing.
Why is the game taking so long to start?
A new investigation creates AI characters on our servers. The Ruby loader video plays while this finishes—usually under 90 seconds. A stable internet connection helps.
Do I need an account?
No. Guest play works without creating a permanent account. Sign in with Apple or Google if you want progress tied to an identity across devices.
Troubleshooting
Voice input isn't working
Open iOS Settings → The Investigation and enable Microphone and Speech Recognition. In-game, check Settings (gear) → Audio—mute silences playback but you can still record. Try text input (message icon, right of the mic) to confirm the backend is responding.
Characters aren't responding / network errors
The game requires an active internet connection. Move to stronger Wi‑Fi or cellular, force-quit and reopen the app, and try again. If the problem persists, email support with the time the error occurred.
"Continue" says my session is stale
Investigation data on our servers may have expired. Tap Start New on the continue screen to begin a fresh case.
Sign in with Apple fails
Apple Sign In is unreliable on the iOS Simulator and requires a passcode or Face ID on a physical device. Guest sign-in is the fastest way to play if you're stuck.
No sound from characters
In-game Settings → Audio, turn off Mute and ensure Voice responses is on. Check device volume and silent mode.
