The Investigation is an iOS mystery game. We collect account IDs (Firebase), gameplay messages and progress, voice transcripts (not raw audio on our servers), and usage/crash data in production. AI characters run on our backend via Letta. We do not sell data, show ads, or offer IAP in v1.

Account
Guest: anonymous Firebase user ID
Apple / Google sign-in: auth tokens; name or email if provided by the provider
Gameplay
Detective name, session state, chat messages, notebook/dossier activity, accusations, game results
Voice
Microphone access (with permission)
On-device speech-to-text; text transcript sent to our servers for character responses

What we do not do (v1)

Retention
Data kept while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. Server-side game sessions may expire when stale. Crash/analytics retention follows Firebase defaults.
Your choices
Deny mic/speech permissions in iOS Settings (text input still works)
Sign out: Settings → Account → Sign Out
Account deletion: email tapandspin@icloud.com (in-app deletion coming later)
Analytics/crashes: production builds only
Children
Not directed to children under 13. Contact us to request deletion of a child’s data.
Security
HTTPS in transit; Firebase security practices. No system is perfectly secure.
International users
Operated from the United States; data may be processed in the U.S. and provider locations.
